Possible Causes
Defective flow meter in inlet assembly, Blocked flow meter turbine, Loose flow meter connector, Control board miscounting pulses
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher and close the water tap.
- Locate flow meter: On many SMEG models, the flow meter is integrated into the side water matrix or inlet assembly as a small module with two wires.
- Inspect for debris: Remove the flow meter if possible and check that the internal turbine spins freely. Rinse under water to remove grit or scale.
- Check wiring: Ensure the connector is firmly attached and the wires are not damaged.
- Replace if faulty: If the turbine is stuck or the sensor coil is open circuit, replace the flow meter with the correct SMEG part.
- Test fill: Reassemble and run a short cycle to confirm that filling is now normal and E14 does not reappear.
