Possible Causes
Stuck pressure switch, Blocked pressure hose, Slow draining causing high water level, Control board logic fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and ensure the water inside is cool.
- Clean filters and drain: Remove and clean the sump filters and check the drain hose and sink spigot for blockages.
- Inspect pressure system: Access the pressure switch and hose. Clean the hose and air trap as described for E5.
- Check for simultaneous fill and drain: During a test cycle, listen to confirm that the inlet valve and drain pump are not running at the same time. If they are, this points to a control board issue.
- Replace faulty components: If the pressure switch is sticking or misreading, replace it. Persistent E16 after these checks may require control board replacement.
