How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before opening the door panel.
- Check dispenser operation: Open the door and inspect the detergent and rinse aid compartments. Ensure the lid is not physically jammed by dried detergent.
- Clean dispenser: Wipe away caked detergent and rinse aid spills. Use warm water to dissolve hardened residue.
- Access dispenser wiring: Remove the inner door panel to expose the dispenser module. Check the solenoid connector and wiring for damage.
- Test solenoid: Measure resistance across the dispenser solenoid. An open circuit indicates a failed unit that must be replaced.
- Replace dispenser: Install a new OEM SMEG dispenser assembly if the actuator or sensor is defective.
