Possible Causes
Stuck diverter valve, Failed diverter motor, Broken diverter position sensor, Wiring fault to diverter assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and water before accessing the base.
- Access diverter assembly: Lay the dishwasher on its back and remove the bottom panel. Locate the diverter valve assembly attached to the sump or circulation pump outlet.
- Inspect for obstructions: Remove the diverter cover and check for debris preventing movement of the diverter disc.
- Test diverter motor: Disconnect the motor and test for continuity. If open or seized, replace the diverter motor or complete assembly.
- Check position sensor: Some Summit models use a microswitch or Hall sensor to detect diverter position. Test the sensor and replace if faulty.
- Verify wiring: Inspect the harness from the control board to the diverter for damage or loose connectors.
