Possible Causes
Seized circulation pump impeller, Foreign object in pump, Burned-out circulation motor, Faulty motor capacitor (if fitted)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher and close the water tap. Expect some water in the sump when removing the pump.
- Check for obstructions: Remove filters and inspect the sump inlet to the circulation pump. Remove any debris that could block the impeller.
- Access pump: Lay the dishwasher on its back and remove the base panel. Locate the circulation pump attached to the sump or heater assembly.
- Inspect impeller: Remove the pump housing cover and check for broken glass, bones, or plastic obstructing the impeller. Clear any obstructions and ensure the impeller spins freely.
- Electrical test: Measure the motor winding resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. If a start capacitor is fitted, test and replace if out of specification.
- Replace pump: If the motor is burned or seized, replace the complete circulation pump assembly.
