How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and water supply before inspection.
- Check salt level: Open the salt compartment and ensure it is filled with appropriate dishwasher salt. Do not use table salt.
- Break up salt bridges: If the salt appears as a solid block, use a wooden spoon handle to gently break it up so water can flow through.
- Rinse salt compartment: If heavily contaminated, scoop out old salt, rinse the compartment with warm water, and refill with fresh dishwasher salt.
- Run regeneration: Run a hot program to allow the softener to regenerate. Monitor for recurrence of E12.
- If E12 persists: The softener valve or control may be defective. Contact V-ZUG service for diagnosis and replacement.
