Possible Causes

Diverter valve motor jammed, Limescale or debris in water distribution system, Wiring to diverter valve damaged, Control board not detecting correct position feedback

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and water supply before inspection.

  • Check spray arms: Remove and clean upper and lower spray arms. Blocked jets can cause abnormal pressure and confuse the water distribution system.
  • Clean filters: Remove and thoroughly clean the coarse and fine filters in the sump to ensure proper circulation.
  • Run a cleaning cycle: Use a V-ZUG-approved dishwasher cleaner or descaler on a hot program to remove internal limescale that can affect the diverter valve.
  • Observe operation: During a test cycle, listen for clicking or switching sounds from the base area as the diverter changes position. Continuous loud clicking may indicate a jammed valve.
  • If E8 persists: The diverter valve or water distribution assembly may need replacement, which requires accessing the underside of the machine. Contact a technician.
