Dishwasher fills with water but does not wash; you hear only a faint hum or silence, and spray arms do not move.

Safety first: Disconnect power and water. Internal components may be sharp or hot.

Step-by-step checks:

• Listen during wash phase: After filling, you should hear a strong wash motor sound. A low hum suggests a jammed or weak motor.
• Check for obstructions: Remove filters and inspect the sump for foreign objects blocking the pump inlet.
• Access circulation pump: Remove the bottom panel and locate the wash pump. Try rotating the impeller by hand; if stiff or jammed, clear debris or replace the pump.
• Motor capacitor: If your Vestel model uses a start capacitor on the pump, test its capacitance and replace if out of tolerance.
• Control output: If the pump and capacitor are good but never receive voltage, the main PCB may be defective.

Replace the circulation pump assembly if seized or burnt. Verify operation with a test cycle.
