Possible Causes
Blocked inlet hose filter, Defective water inlet valve, Low mains water pressure, Faulty flow meter or pressure switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher and close the water supply tap before working on it.
Step-by-step checks:
- Check water supply: Ensure the household tap feeding the dishwasher is fully open and that other taps in the house have normal pressure.
- Clean inlet hose filter: Turn off the tap, disconnect the inlet hose from the tap and from the dishwasher. At both ends you will find small mesh filters. Rinse them under running water and remove any limescale or debris with a soft brush.
- Inspect inlet valve (Vestel water inlet solenoid): Remove the lower front kick panel, locate the water inlet valve where the hose connects to the machine. Check for visible cracks, leaks, or burnt connectors. Measure coil resistance with a multimeter; an open circuit indicates a failed valve that must be replaced.
- Check for kinked or crushed hose: Make sure the inlet hose is not bent sharply behind the cabinet.
- Flow meter / pressure switch: On some Vestel models, a flow meter or pressure switch monitors fill. If the machine fills briefly then stops, the sensor may be faulty or its wiring loose. Inspect the wiring harness and connectors for corrosion or loose pins.
If the valve coil is open or the sensor wiring is damaged, replace the faulty component with a compatible Vestel spare.
