Possible Causes
Defective flow meter, Loose or corroded flow meter connector, Faulty main control board input, Limescale buildup in flow meter turbine
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher and close the water tap.
Step-by-step checks:
- Access flow meter: On many Vestel dishwashers, the flow meter is integrated into the inlet valve or side water distribution chamber. Remove the side panel to locate it.
- Inspect wiring: Check the small harness from the flow meter to the main PCB. Look for broken wires, loose connectors, or corrosion. Reseat the connector firmly.
- Clean flow meter: If accessible, remove the flow meter and rinse it under running water. Ensure the internal turbine wheel spins freely; remove limescale with a soft brush and descaler.
- Electrical test: With a multimeter set to frequency or pulse count (advanced), verify that the flow meter outputs pulses when water flows. If no signal is present but the turbine spins, replace the flow meter.
- Control board: If a known-good flow meter is installed and wiring is intact, the main PCB input circuit may be defective and require replacement.
After reassembly, run a short program to confirm that filling is detected correctly and E6 does not reappear.
