Possible Causes
Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Loose NTC connector, Shorted or open NTC wiring, Control board temperature circuit fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher and allow it to cool fully before working near the sump or heater.
Step-by-step checks:
- Locate NTC sensor: On Vestel dishwashers, the NTC is usually mounted in the sump or integrated into the heater housing.
- Inspect connection: Check the NTC plug and wiring harness for corrosion, moisture ingress, or loose pins. Dry and reseat the connector.
- Measure resistance: Disconnect the NTC and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare with Vestel specifications (commonly in the 10–50 kΩ range). An infinite or near-zero reading indicates a faulty sensor.
- Check for damage: Inspect the sensor body for cracks or swelling. Replace if any physical damage is visible.
- Control board: If a new NTC does not resolve E8 and wiring is intact, the main PCB may have a defective temperature measurement circuit and require replacement.
After replacing the NTC or PCB, run a full wash cycle to confirm stable heating and that E8 does not return.
