Dishwasher fills with water but does not wash; spray arms do not move and there is no strong wash sound.

Safety first: Turn off power and water before accessing the base.

• Confirm fill: Start a cycle and listen for water entering the tub. After filling, if you hear only a faint hum or silence, the wash motor is suspect.
• Check for obstructions: Remove lower spray arm and filters. Inspect the sump for foreign objects that could jam the impeller.
• Access circulation pump: From the bottom, remove the Viking circulation pump and inspect the impeller. Clear debris and ensure it spins freely.
• Test motor and capacitor: Measure motor winding resistance and test the capacitor (if present). Replace the pump assembly if the motor is open, shorted, or seized.
