Possible Causes
Door not fully latched, Faulty Viking door latch switch, Control lock (child lock) enabled, Defective start button on control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the door panel.
- Verify door closure: Close the door firmly until you hear a positive latch click. Check for dishes or racks preventing full closure.
- Check for control lock: Many Viking models have a control lock feature. Look for a lock icon on the display and hold the designated key (often 3–5 seconds) to toggle the lock off.
- Test door latch switch: Access the latch assembly and test the switch with a multimeter. Replace the Viking latch if the switch does not close when latched.
- Inspect Start button: If the Start key feels mushy or unresponsive, the UI board may be failing. Replace the control panel if other keys work but Start does not.
