Possible Causes
Clogged inlet screen on Viking water inlet valve, Failed Viking water inlet valve coil, Low household water pressure or closed shutoff valve, Faulty flow meter or pressure sensor (if equipped)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker and turn off the dishwasher’s water supply before working on the unit.
- Check household water supply: Verify the under-sink shutoff valve feeding the Viking dishwasher is fully open. Confirm other faucets in the home have normal pressure.
- Inspect inlet hose and valve screen: Remove the lower toe-kick panel. Locate the water inlet valve where the supply line connects. Turn off water, disconnect the line, and inspect the valve’s mesh screen for debris or scale. Clean gently with a soft brush and reinstall.
- Check for kinked or crushed hose: Ensure the stainless or braided inlet hose is not kinked behind the dishwasher or under the cabinet.
- Test the inlet valve coil: With power still off, disconnect the wiring harness from the Viking inlet valve. Use a multimeter to check coil resistance; an open circuit indicates a failed valve that must be replaced.
- Run a test cycle: Restore water and power, then start a short cycle. Listen for the fill solenoid click and water entering the tub. If E01 returns and water does not enter, replace the inlet valve assembly.
