Possible Causes

Leaking Viking circulation pump seal, Cracked or loose drain hose, Door gasket leak, Split sump or tub seam

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and turn off water. Water in the base can contact live components; do not reach inside until power is off.

  • Check for visible leaks: Remove the toe-kick panel and inspect the base pan with a flashlight. Look for standing water and trace water trails back to their source (pump, hoses, sump, or door area).
  • Dry the base pan: Carefully soak up water with towels or a sponge. Some Viking models have a float switch in the base; ensure it moves freely once dry.
  • Inspect door gasket and lower door seal: Open the door and examine the perimeter gasket for tears, flattening, or buildup. Clean with warm soapy water. Replace if deformed or cracked. Check the lower door seal for splits.
  • Examine hoses and clamps: Inspect the main drain hose, circulation pump outlet hose, and fill hose for cracks or loose clamps. Tighten clamps and replace any damaged hoses.
  • Check circulation pump and sump: Look for drips from the Viking circulation pump housing or sump assembly during a short test fill (restore power briefly while observing, then disconnect again). A leaking seal or cracked sump requires replacement.
  • Reset and test: After repairs and drying, restore power and run a short cycle while monitoring for new leaks.
