Possible Causes
Misaligned Viking door latch, Failed door switch or latch assembly, Bent door strike, Loose wiring to door lock
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing any panels or working around wiring.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes firmly and latches with a solid click. If you must push hard or lift the door to latch, the strike or hinges may be misaligned.
- Inspect door strike: Open the door and examine the metal or plastic strike on the tub frame. Tighten loose screws and adjust position so the latch engages fully.
- Test door switch: Remove the inner door panel to access the Viking door latch assembly. Disconnect the switch connector and test continuity while operating the latch. Replace the latch assembly if the switch does not change state reliably.
- Check wiring harness: Inspect the harness from the latch to the control board for pinched or broken wires, especially where it passes through the door hinge area.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall the inner door panel, restore power, and start a cycle. If E06 persists after latch replacement, the control board may be misreading the signal and require professional diagnosis.
