Possible Causes
Leak from Viking inlet valve connection, Loose circulation pump clamp, Cracked sump, Over-sudsing causing overflow into base
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and water. Avoid tipping the unit if water may spill onto electrical components.
- Remove toe-kick and inspect base: Look for standing water and the float or sensor in the base pan. Dry all water with towels or a wet/dry vacuum.
- Identify leak source: Run a short fill cycle while observing the base (restore power briefly). Watch for drips from the inlet valve, hoses, pump, or sump. Turn power off again before touching anything wet.
- Correct over-sudsing: If you see excessive foam, you may be using non-dishwasher detergent or too much rinse aid. Run a rinse cycle with a small amount of cooking oil to break down suds.
- Repair leaks: Tighten hose clamps, replace cracked hoses, or install a new Viking sump or pump seal as needed.
- Reset sensor: Once dry and repaired, the float or sensor should reset automatically. Run a full cycle to confirm no further leaks.
