Possible Causes
Blocked pressure chamber or air trap, Clogged pressure hose, Defective pressure sensor, Wiring issue between pressure sensor and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from mains power and close the water tap before removing panels.
- Run a reset: On many Zanussi models, turning the appliance off and back on and then selecting a short program can clear a one‑off glitch. If i40 returns, continue with checks.
- Clean filters and sump: Remove and clean all filters and check the sump for grease and debris that could block the pressure chamber.
- Inspect pressure hose: Access the side of the dishwasher and locate the small rubber or plastic hose running from the sump/air chamber to the pressure sensor. Remove it carefully and blow through it to clear any blockage. Rinse with hot water if greasy.
- Check pressure sensor: Ensure the sensor connector is firmly seated and free of corrosion. If you have a multimeter and service data, test the sensor; replace it if readings are out of specification.
- If unresolved: The electronic control board or sensor circuit may be faulty and should be diagnosed by a professional.
