Dishwasher makes loud grinding or rattling noises during wash or drain.

Safety first: Turn off power before reaching inside the tub or accessing the pump.

• Inspect interior: Check that racks are loaded correctly and utensils are not protruding into the spray arm path.
• Check spray arms: Spin spray arms by hand to ensure they rotate freely and are not hitting dishes or racks.
• Clean sump and pump: Remove filters and inspect the sump for hard objects. Access the circulation and drain pumps from below and remove any debris from the impellers.
• Replace noisy pump: If the grinding persists and the pump bearings are worn, replace the affected pump assembly.
