Possible Causes

Low household water pressure, Clogged inlet filter screen at water inlet valve, Defective water inlet valve coil, Kinked or pinched inlet hose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher or switch off the circuit breaker and turn off the water supply before working on plumbing or internal parts.

  • Check household water supply: Confirm the shutoff valve (usually under the sink) is fully open and that other faucets have normal pressure.
  • Inspect inlet hose: Pull the dishwasher out slightly and verify the water inlet hose is not kinked, crushed, or twisted. Straighten as needed.
  • Clean inlet filter screen: Turn off water, disconnect the inlet hose from the dishwasher’s water inlet valve, and remove any small mesh filter screen. Rinse debris under running water and reinstall.
  • Test water inlet valve: With power off, access the bottom front of the unit, locate the water inlet valve, and check for obvious damage or leaks. If the valve hums but no water enters (and supply is confirmed), the valve is likely faulty and should be replaced.
  • Reset and test: Restore power and water, then run a short cycle to see if the E1 code clears.
