Possible Causes
Leaking door gasket, Loose or cracked circulation pump housing, Split drain hose or clamp failure, Overfilling due to faulty inlet valve or pressure switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and turn off water immediately. Water in the base can contact live components.
- Remove standing water: Carefully pull the dishwasher out from the cabinet. Tilt it slightly backward to drain water from the base pan onto towels or a shallow tray.
- Inspect base float switch: Locate the leak/float switch in the base. Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck in the up position. Dry the area thoroughly.
- Check door gasket: Examine the door seal for tears, deformation, or hardened sections. Clean the gasket and mating surfaces. Replace the gasket if damaged.
- Inspect hoses and clamps: With the side or bottom panels removed, check the drain hose, circulation pump outlet hose, and sump connections for drips or mineral trails. Tighten clamps or replace cracked hoses.
- Check pump and sump: Look for hairline cracks in the circulation pump housing and plastic sump. If leaking, the affected assembly must be replaced.
- Test for overfill: After repairs, run a short cycle while observing underneath for leaks. If water level rises too high, suspect a sticking water inlet valve or faulty pressure/level sensor.
