Possible Causes

Blocked pressure hose to level sensor, Faulty water level sensor (pressure switch), Debris in sump affecting level reading, Wiring issue between sensor and control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and water before accessing internal components.

  • Clean sump and filters: Remove the lower spray arm, filter screen, and fine filter. Clean out food debris, grease, and foreign objects that may affect water level sensing.
  • Inspect pressure hose: Locate the small rubber or plastic hose running from the sump/air chamber to the water level sensor. Check for kinks, blockages, or waterlogged sections. Detach and blow through it to clear obstructions.
  • Check sensor connections: Ensure the electrical connector on the water level sensor is fully seated and free of corrosion.
  • Replace level sensor if needed: If the hose is clear and wiring is intact but E5 persists, replace the water level sensor/pressure switch with a compatible Zline part.
  • Reset and test: Reassemble, restore power and water, and run a test cycle to confirm normal operation.
