Possible Causes

Failed circulation pump motor, Jammed impeller due to debris, Loose wiring harness at circulation pump, Defective main control board not powering pump

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker and turn off water. Internal edges can be sharp; wear cut-resistant gloves.

  • Listen for pump operation: During a wash cycle (before disconnecting power), note whether you hear the normal wash motor hum and water spraying. Silence or a brief hum then stop suggests pump issues.
  • Check for debris: Remove lower spray arm and filters. Access the sump inlet to the circulation pump and inspect for broken glass, bones, or plastic obstructing the impeller. Remove any debris.
  • Inspect pump wiring: From the bottom of the unit, locate the circulation pump assembly. Verify the wiring harness is firmly connected and not heat-damaged.
  • Test pump motor: With power off, disconnect the pump and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit or very high resistance indicates a failed motor that must be replaced.
  • Replace circulation pump assembly: If the motor is defective or the housing is leaking, install a new Zline-compatible circulation pump assembly and reassemble.
