How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately switch off and unplug the dryer if you smell burning or see smoke. Do not continue to use until inspected.
- 1. Allow to cool: Wait until the dryer is completely cool before opening panels.
- 2. Clean lint thoroughly: Remove lint filter and clean. Remove condenser/heat exchanger and wash. Vacuum lint from accessible ducts, heater housing (without touching elements), and around the motor.
- 3. Check for foreign objects: Inspect the drum and heater area for plastic items, labels, or fabrics that may have contacted the heater.
- 4. Inspect power cord and plug: Look for signs of overheating or melting.
- 5. When to call a technician: If the smell persists, or if you see scorch marks inside, have the dryer professionally inspected before further use.
