Possible Causes
Blocked condensate drain channel, Clogged condensate pump filter, Faulty condensate pump, Kinked or blocked drain hose (if plumbed to waste)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer from the mains before inspection. Water may spill when opening lower panels.
- 1. Empty water container: Remove and fully empty the condensate water tank. Reinsert it firmly until it clicks.
- 2. Clean drain channel: Open the lower front flap and locate the condensate drain channel leading to the tank or pump. Wipe away lint, sludge, and detergent residues with a cloth and warm water.
- 3. Check pump filter (if accessible): Some AEG models have a small pump filter behind the lower panel. Remove the cover, place a tray under the opening, and carefully unscrew the filter cap. Clean out lint and debris, then refit securely.
- 4. Inspect external drain hose: If the dryer is connected directly to a drain, ensure the hose is not kinked, crushed, or blocked. Flush it with warm water if necessary.
- 5. Test operation: Restore power and run a short cycle. Listen for the pump running and check that water is being moved to the tank or drain.
- 6. When to call a technician: If E20 returns and the pump is silent or noisy without moving water, the condensate pump or its wiring may be defective and should be replaced by a professional.
