Possible Causes

Open heating element (for vented/condenser models), Tripped thermal cut-out, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Blocked airflow causing overheat

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power. Heating components can remain hot after use.

  • 1. Clean filters: Remove and thoroughly clean the lint filter and, if fitted, the secondary filter. Blocked filters can cause overheating and E60 errors.
  • 2. Check condenser/heat exchanger: For condenser and heat pump models, remove the condenser unit and rinse it under warm running water to clear lint and dust. Allow to dry before refitting.
  • 3. Inspect rear and side vents: Ensure that wall or duct vents are not blocked or crushed, and that there is adequate space around the dryer for airflow.
  • 4. Reset thermal cut-out (if accessible): Some models have a manual reset thermostat on the heater housing. With power off, remove the rear panel and press the small red button on the thermostat if present.
  • 5. When to call a technician: If E60 persists, the heater, NTC sensor, or control board may be faulty and should be tested and replaced by a professional.
