How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before opening the cabinet.
- Confirm belt failure: Open the door and try to spin the drum by hand. If it spins very freely with little resistance, the belt is likely broken.
- Access belt path: Remove the front panel and lift out the drum to inspect the belt, idler pulley, and motor pulley.
- Replace belt: Install a new Amana-compatible drum belt, routing it around the motor and idler pulleys per the belt routing diagram.
- Inspect pulleys: Replace a worn idler pulley and ensure the motor pulley is secure.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall the drum and panels, then run a test cycle.
