Possible Causes

Broken or contaminated moisture sensor bars, Disconnected sensor harness, Shorted sensor wires, Failed control moisture sensing circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing internal wiring.

  • Clean sensor bars: Open the door and locate the two metal moisture sensor bars inside the drum (usually near the lint filter). Clean them with rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth to remove dryer sheet residue.
  • Inspect wiring: Access the area behind the sensor bars and check the harness connections to the bars and to the control board.
  • Check for shorts: Ensure the sensor wires are not pinched or touching each other or the cabinet.
  • Test operation: Restore power and run an automatic cycle with a wet load to see if E7 clears and dryness detection improves.
