Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing the console or control board.
- Inspect harness connections: Remove the console or top panel to access the main control and UI board. Reseat all multi-pin connectors and ribbon cables between them.
- Check for damage: Look for pinched wires, corrosion, or burn marks on connectors and boards.
- Power reset: After reseating connectors, leave the dryer unplugged for 5 minutes, then restore power and test.
If F6 returns, one of the boards is likely defective. Replacing the main control is common, but on some models the UI board may be at fault; follow Amana’s service diagnostics or consult a technician.
