Possible Causes
Faulty Start button, Defective door switch, Child lock activated, Faulty main relay on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing the control panel or door switch.
- Check display indicators: Ensure that the child lock icon (if present) is not active. Deactivate child lock according to the user manual (often by holding specific buttons).
- Verify door closure: Make sure the door is fully closed and latched. If the door feels loose, inspect the latch and strike.
- Test door switch: With power disconnected, access the door switch and test continuity while pressing the actuator. Replace if it does not switch correctly.
- Inspect Start button: Remove the control panel and check the Start button for mechanical sticking or failure. On electronic panels, the tact switch on the PCB may need replacement.
- Listen for relay click: If you hear a click but the dryer does not start, the main relay or motor circuit may be faulty. This often requires PCB diagnosis and repair by a technician.
