Possible Causes
Stuck float in water tank, Dirty level sensor contacts, Faulty float switch, Blocked condensate hose causing backflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing the tank or accessing internal components.
- Clean water tank: Remove the tank and rinse it thoroughly. Ensure the float inside moves freely and is not obstructed by scale or debris.
- Clean sensor contacts: Wipe any metal contacts on the tank and in the housing with a dry cloth to remove moisture and residue.
- Inspect condensate hose: Check the hose from the sump to the tank for blockages that could cause water to back up and trigger the float.
- Test float switch: If accessible, test the float switch in the base or tank with a multimeter for correct operation. Replace if faulty.
- Reinsert tank firmly: Ensure the tank is pushed fully into place so that it correctly engages the sensor.
