Dryer drum does not rotate; E06 is displayed shortly after starting a program.

Safety first: Unplug the dryer. Moving parts can cause injury; do not work with power applied.

• Check drum movement: Open the door and try to rotate the drum by hand. It should turn smoothly with moderate resistance. If it is very stiff or jammed, inspect for foreign objects between drum and front felt seal or a seized rear bearing.
• Inspect the drive belt: Remove the top cover and rear panel. Verify that the belt is intact and correctly seated on the motor pulley and drum. If the belt is broken or badly worn, replace it before further testing.
• Check motor capacitor (if fitted): Many Amica dryers use a start/run capacitor mounted near the motor. Inspect for bulging, leaks, or cracks. A failed capacitor can prevent the motor from starting and trigger E06.
• Test motor windings: Disconnect the motor connector and measure resistance between motor terminals. Compare to service data; open or shorted windings indicate a bad motor.
• Inspect wiring: Check the harness from the motor to the main control board for damage or loose connectors. Reseat all plugs.
• Reassemble and test: After replacing any faulty parts (belt, capacitor, or motor), reassemble the dryer and run a test cycle. If E06 persists with a known-good motor and wiring, the motor control circuit on the PCB may be defective and require professional service.
