Possible Causes

Faulty drum rotation sensor on motor, Loose sensor magnet on motor shaft, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Faulty motor control circuit on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from the mains before accessing the motor area.

  • Access the motor: Remove the rear panel and, if necessary, the side panel to expose the drive motor and belt.
  • Inspect the tacho/Hall sensor: On many Amica motors, a small sensor is mounted at the rear of the motor around the shaft. Check that it is firmly attached and not physically damaged.
  • Check the magnet: Ensure the small magnet ring or magnet on the motor shaft is intact and not cracked or loose. A missing or displaced magnet will prevent speed feedback.
  • Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor wires back to the main control board. Look for cuts, pinches, or burned insulation. Reseat the connector on both the motor and PCB.
  • Test sensor (if equipped with Hall output): Using a multimeter set to DC voltage, reconnect power and carefully (with all safety precautions and covers in place where possible) measure the sensor output while manually rotating the drum. A pulsing voltage indicates a working sensor. If unsure, disconnect power again and replace the sensor as a precaution.
  • Reassemble and test: After securing or replacing the sensor and magnet, reassemble the dryer and run a cycle. If E07 persists, the motor control section of the main PCB may be faulty and should be evaluated by a technician.
