Possible Causes
Faulty heater relay on main PCB, Burned relay contacts, Loose power supply connections, Damaged wiring to heater
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the dryer from mains. Work on the control board only if you are comfortable with electronics; otherwise, seek professional help.
- Verify supply voltage: Ensure the wall outlet provides correct voltage and that the plug and cord are not damaged. A weak or intermittent supply can cause relay errors.
- Inspect wiring to heater: Remove the rear panel and trace the wires from the heater to the main control board. Look for burned connectors or melted insulation. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
- Access the control board: Remove the top cover and control panel as needed to reach the main PCB. Visually inspect the board for burned areas, especially around the heater relay.
- Check relay solder joints: Cold or cracked solder joints under the relay can cause intermittent contact. If you have soldering skills, you may reflow these joints; otherwise, replace the entire PCB.
- Replace PCB if necessary: If the relay is visibly burned or the board is damaged, replace the main control module with an Amica-compatible part. Transfer any configuration jumpers as per service instructions.
- Reassemble and test: After reassembly, run a timed heat cycle to confirm that heating is restored and E09 no longer appears.
