Possible Causes
Water leak into base tray, Activated float switch in base, Cracked condensate hose, Loose pump or tank connections
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination; ensure the area is dry before restoring power.
- Check for visible leaks: Pull the dryer forward and inspect underneath for water. Mop up any standing water.
- Access the base tray: Remove the lower front or rear panel to view the base tray. If full of water, carefully tilt the dryer slightly (with assistance) to drain the tray into a shallow container or use a sponge to remove water.
- Inspect float switch: Locate the float switch in the base tray. Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck in the raised (alarm) position. Clean away lint or debris.
- Trace the leak source: Check the condensate hoses from the sump to the pump and from the pump to the tank or drain outlet for cracks or loose clamps. Tighten or replace as needed.
- Check heat exchanger housing: Inspect the condenser/evaporator housing for cracks or misfitted seals that could allow water to escape.
- Reassemble and test: After fixing the leak and drying the base tray completely, reassemble panels, restore power, and run a short cycle. If E13 returns, the float switch or its wiring may be faulty and require replacement.
