Possible Causes
Faulty ambient NTC sensor, Loose sensor wiring, Sensor shorted by moisture, Corroded connector on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing sensors or control boards.
- Locate the ambient NTC: On some Amica models, an additional NTC is placed near the air intake or on the control panel housing to monitor ambient temperature.
- Inspect sensor and wiring: Check that the sensor is securely mounted and that its wiring harness is intact and properly connected to the main PCB.
- Test resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance at room temperature with a multimeter. Compare to the specified value in the service manual. An open or shorted reading indicates a faulty sensor.
- Check for moisture: If the sensor is located near a vent or opening, ensure it is dry and free from condensation or detergent residue.
- Replace if necessary: Install a new Amica-compatible ambient NTC if the original is out of specification. Reconnect wiring securely.
- Reassemble and test: Restore power and run a standard program to confirm that E15 no longer appears.
