Possible Causes
Loose multi-connector on main PCB, Short between sensor wires, Damaged harness between front and rear assemblies, Faulty main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the dryer from mains before working on wiring or the control board.
- Inspect main harness connectors: Remove the top cover and locate the main wiring harness connectors on the PCB. Ensure all plugs are fully seated and locked.
- Check for pinched cables: Follow the harness from the front panel (door switch, UI, sensors) to the rear. Look for areas where the cable may be pinched by panels or brackets.
- Look for corrosion or burning: Any greenish corrosion or blackened connectors indicate poor contact; clean or replace as needed.
- Reseat all sensor connectors: Disconnect and reconnect plugs for NTCs, moisture sensor, and float switches to refresh contacts.
- Test operation: After reassembly, power on the dryer and select a simple program. If E16 persists, the internal communication circuitry on the PCB may be defective and require replacement.
