• Clean moisture sensor bars: Inside the drum, thoroughly clean the metal sensor strips with a cloth and mild detergent or vinegar to remove any insulating film.
• Run a calibration cycle (if supported): Some Amica models allow a sensor calibration procedure (refer to the user or service manual). Typically, this involves starting a specific program with a small load and letting it complete.
• Inspect sensor wiring: Access the area behind the sensor bars and check the wiring harness to the PCB for damage or loose connectors.
• Reset the control: Unplug the dryer for 5–10 minutes to reset the electronics, then reconnect and test.
• Replace sensor or PCB if needed: If E18 persists and wiring and bars are good, the moisture sensor assembly or main PCB may require replacement.
