Burning smell or very hot cabinet during or after drying cycle

Safety first: Turn off and unplug the dryer immediately. Do not continue to use the appliance until the cause is found and corrected.

• Clean lint thoroughly: Remove the lint filter and clean it. Access internal ducts and the area around the heater housing and vacuum out all lint.
• Check exhaust: Ensure the exhaust hose and wall vent are clear and not restricted.
• Inspect heater and wiring: With panels removed, look for scorched wiring or heater housing. Replace any damaged components.
• Motor check: If the burning smell seems electrical or from the motor, have a technician inspect and replace the motor if necessary.
