Possible Causes
Broken or slipped drive belt, Worn idler pulley, Drum support rollers seized
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer. The drum and motor can move suddenly when the belt is adjusted.
- Check drum by hand: Open the door and rotate the drum. If it spins very freely with little resistance, the belt may be broken.
- Access belt: Remove the top and rear (or front) panels to inspect the belt around the drum and motor pulley.
- Replace belt: If broken or heavily worn, remove the old belt and fit a new Ariston‑specified belt, routing it around the idler pulley and motor as per the service diagram.
- Inspect pulleys and rollers: Spin the idler pulley and drum rollers by hand. Replace any that are noisy or seized.
