Worn drum support rollers, Dry or seized idler pulley, Worn front drum glides or felt seal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing panels. Edges inside the cabinet can be sharp.
- Isolate noise: Run the dryer briefly with an empty drum to confirm the noise is from the drum support, not loose items.
- Access drum supports: Remove the front panel and top cover to expose the drum supports and idler pulley.
- Inspect rollers and pulley: Spin each roller and the idler pulley by hand. Replace any that are stiff, noisy, or wobbling.
- Check front glides/felt: Inspect the front drum support glides or felt seal for heavy wear. Replace if the drum is rubbing metal‑to‑metal.
