Possible Causes
Failed main relay on electronic control board, Burnt track or component on PCB, Shorted wiring harness between mains filter and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer from the mains supply before removing any panels. Capacitors on the control board can retain charge; avoid touching board tracks and components directly.
- Power reset: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect and try to start a cycle. Sometimes a transient fault clears.
- Check wall outlet and cord: Verify the outlet has correct voltage using a meter and that the Ariston power cord and plug are not burnt or loose.
- Inspect mains filter and wiring: Remove the top cover, locate the mains interference filter and follow the harness to the control board. Check for burnt connectors, loose plugs, or damaged insulation. Reseat all connectors firmly.
- Inspect control board: With power disconnected, remove the control board cover. Look for burnt spots, cracked solder joints at the main relay, or swollen components. If any damage is visible, the board should be replaced rather than repaired in‑home.
- When to call a technician: If the board shows damage or F01 returns after resets and wiring checks, replacement of the electronic control module is required. This involves handling live circuits and should be done by a qualified technician.
