Possible Causes
Open or shorted NTC sensor on heater duct, Damaged wiring between NTC and control board, Corroded NTC connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the front or rear panels. Heating components can remain hot after use.
- Access the NTC: On many Ariston dryers, the NTC temperature sensor is mounted on the heater housing or air duct. Remove the rear panel or lower front kick panel to locate it.
- Inspect wiring: Check the two‑wire connector to the NTC for corrosion, loose fit, or broken wires. Clean contacts gently and reseat the plug.
- Check for lint buildup: Excess lint on the heater duct and sensor can cause incorrect readings. Carefully vacuum lint from around the sensor and duct without damaging the sensor body.
- Sensor replacement: If F03 persists, the NTC is likely out of range. It is usually held by one or two screws or a clip. Remove and replace with an Ariston‑compatible NTC sensor, reconnect wiring, and reassemble panels.
- When to call a technician: If a new NTC does not clear the error, the fault may be on the control board’s sensor circuit and requires professional diagnosis.
