How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately unplug the dryer if you suspect overheating or smell burning. Do not continue to use the appliance until the fault is resolved.
- Inspect heater wiring: With power disconnected, remove the rear panel and check for damaged insulation, melted connectors, or wires touching the cabinet.
- Check thermostats: Ensure high‑limit and cycling thermostats are firmly attached and not bypassed. Never bypass safety thermostats for testing.
- Control board inspection: Remove the control board cover and look for a heater relay that appears burnt or stuck. If the relay is welded, the entire board should be replaced.
- Do not operate until repaired: A heater that remains energized is a fire risk. If you are not equipped to replace the control board, contact an authorized Ariston service center.
