How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing any panels. The drum and motor can start unexpectedly if power is applied.
- Check drum movement: Try to rotate the drum by hand with the door open. If it spins very freely with no resistance, the belt may be broken.
- Access belt:
- Remove the top cover and front panel.
- Inspect the belt around the drum and motor pulley.
- If belt is broken or off:
- Remove the old belt.
- Check idler pulley and drum rollers for smooth rotation; replace if noisy or seized.
- Fit a new Bauknecht-compatible belt, routing it around the motor pulley and idler as per the belt diagram (often on a label inside the cabinet).
- Reassemble and test: Rotate the drum by hand to ensure the belt is seated, then restore power and run a short cycle.
Note: Always replace a damaged belt rather than reusing it; weakened belts can snap again quickly.
