Possible Causes
Stuck heater relay, Shorted thermostat, Blocked airflow, Faulty NTC sensor misreading temperature
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Stop the dryer immediately, unplug it, and allow it to cool. Overheating is a fire hazard.
- Clean filters and ducts: Remove all lint from filter, condenser, and exhaust hose.
- Check load size: Avoid very small loads on high heat; use appropriate programs.
- Inspect thermostats and sensors:
- Access the heater housing.
- Test thermostats and NTC sensors for correct operation; replace any that are shorted or out of range.
- Control board relay: If heating continues when it should be off, the heater relay on the PCB may be stuck closed and the board should be replaced.
Warning: Do not continue using the dryer until the cause of overheating is identified and corrected.
