Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer from the mains before removing any panels. Capacitors on the control board can retain charge; avoid touching board components directly.
- Power reset: Disconnect the dryer from power for at least 5 minutes, then plug back in and try to start a cycle. Sometimes F01 is a temporary communication glitch.
- Check supply and plug: Verify the wall outlet has correct voltage and that the plug and cord are not burnt or loose.
- Inspect control connections:
- Remove the top cover (usually rear screws, then slide back).
- Locate the main control board at the top rear or side.
- Check all wiring harness connectors for firm seating and signs of burning or corrosion.
- Look for visible board damage: Burn marks, swollen components, or cracked solder joints indicate a failed PCB that must be replaced.
- If F01 persists: The main control board/EEPROM is likely defective. Replacement requires transferring each connector one by one to the new board, matching positions exactly.
Warning: If you are not comfortable working around live circuits or electronic boards, contact a qualified Bauknecht service technician.
