Possible Causes
Contaminated moisture sensor bars, Broken or disconnected sensor wiring, Faulty moisture sensor module, Control board input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing internal wiring. Cleaning the sensor bars on the drum side can be done with power off and door open.
- Clean sensor bars:
- Locate the two metal strips (moisture sensor bars) inside the drum, usually near the lint filter opening.
- Clean them thoroughly with a soft cloth and a bit of white vinegar or mild detergent to remove fabric softener residue.
- Dry completely before use.
- Check wiring:
- Access the area behind the sensor bars (front panel removal may be required).
- Ensure the sensor wires are firmly connected and not broken.
- Test operation: After cleaning, run a sensor-dry program with a small load. If F08 persists, the sensor or control input may be defective.
- Replace sensor: If wiring is intact but the fault remains, replace the moisture sensor assembly or sensor PCB as specified for your Bauknecht model.
Note: Using excessive fabric softener sheets can coat the sensor bars and cause false readings; reduce usage if this fault recurs.
