Possible Causes
Defective motor tachometer coil, Loose tachometer connector at motor, Broken wiring between motor and control board, Faulty motor control circuit on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer. The motor area contains moving parts and live wiring.
- Access the motor:
- Remove the rear or side panel to expose the drive motor.
- Locate the small tachometer connector on the motor (usually a two-wire plug).
- Check connections: Ensure the tachometer plug is fully seated and that the wires are not damaged or pulled.
- Inspect harness: Follow the tachometer wires back to the control board, checking for pinched or broken sections.
- Test tachometer (if equipped): With a multimeter set to resistance, measure across the tachometer terminals; an open circuit indicates a failed sensor.
- Control board: If the tachometer tests good but F10 persists, the motor control circuit on the PCB may be defective and require replacement.
Warning: Do not run the dryer with panels removed; exposed moving parts and live wiring are dangerous.
