Possible Causes
Open heating element, Blown thermal fuse, Failed cycling thermostat, Loose heater wiring connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer and verify no power is present before testing components.
If the drum turns but there is no heat and no error code, the heating circuit is the primary suspect.
- Confirm lack of heat: Run a timed cycle on high heat for 5–10 minutes and check for warm air at the vent or drum. If completely cold, proceed.
- Access heater assembly: Remove the rear panel (vented) or appropriate side/back panel (condenser/heat pump) to expose the heater housing.
- Test heating element: Disconnect the element leads and measure resistance. Replace the heater assembly if the element is open.
- Check thermal fuse and thermostats: Test each device on the heater housing and exhaust duct for continuity. Replace any open components and thoroughly clean lint from ducts to prevent repeat failure.
- Inspect wiring: Tighten any loose spade connectors and replace burned terminals. Ensure the harness is not pinched.
- Reassemble and test: Restore power and run a test cycle. If there is still no heat, the control board heater relay or NTC sensor may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
